With more than 25 schools in operation and over 10,000 students enrolled, the Education Development Company (EDC) Group has established itself as a leading private education provider in Morocco.

As an institutional player, EDC is committed to contributing to the professionalization of the education sector. Its approach is rooted in governance and organizational models aligned with global best practices, supported by dedicated bodies and specialized committees.

Capitalizing on its historic schools in Casablanca, established over sixty years ago, SOMED has gradually expanded to cover the main cities of the Kingdom (Rabat, Tangier, El Jadida, Khouribga, Safi, Youssoufia and Marrakech). It continues to pursue its ambition of strengthening its national network in the short and medium term, with a longer-term goal of expanding into French-speaking Africa.

Following the opening of more than 10 schools between September 2020 and 2024, the group continues to implement its vision with new sites planned for the upcoming academic years.

Our multi-curriculum schools cover all levels of education (Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary and Higher Education) through networks with strong and distinctive identities:

1. A French network accredited by the AEFE under the brand “Léon l’Africain”.
2. A Moroccan trilingual network through the brands “Elbilia International” and “Loppsi”.
3. An American network in Rabat under the brand “Dar Essalam American School”.
4. A Moroccan bilingual network, under the brand “Elbilia Skolar” and through delegated management via “Elbilia Management”.
5. A Higher Education network through the brands “ESME” and “Elbilia International – Preparatory Classes”
6. A tutoring network through “Les Cours Elbilia” , offering evening classes, summer courses and post-baccalaureate exam preparation.

Our Scientific Committee

Composed notably of prominent figures such as Mrs. Najat Vallaud-Belkacem (former French Minister of National Education) and Mr. Soulaymane Kachani (Senior Vice Provost at Columbia University), the committee is tasked with providing recommendations and educational tools based on international benchmarks and best practices.
