For the development of its oil channel via SOPROLIVES (olive tree growing), SOMED is developing an agro-industrial project: it concerns the setting up of state-of-the-art plant for the production of high quality olive oil, expected in 2010. This will consist of three main components : grinding, refining and the packaging of olive oil. This facility will benefit from a precious transfer of the most modern technologies in terms of conduct and management, as well as a know-how similar to the best international practices.

The aim is to reach production standards that meet the expectations of the market, both in terms of quantity and of quality, and to contribute to a substantial improvement of the performance and the competitiveness of the sector in export, especially within the context of much tougher stances regarding the eligibility conditions by the main importing markets.
