In the heart of El Haouz region, cradle of olive oil in Morocco, in Tamellalt and located in El Kelâa des Sraghnas, the project SOPROLIVES, was started in 2006.

This integrated project for the development of high quality olive oil was born from the common will of the SOMED Group (Moroccan-UAE company for development) and the Portuguese group SOVENA in order to contribute to the development of the oil sector, which is considered an important axis in the agricultural development in Morocco.

The project is based on the development of 2600 acres of agricultural lands. These lands are devoted to the cultivation of the olive tree by the planting of 180,000 seedlings of the Arbequina variety, with an intensive density of 150 tress per acre. 

SOPROLIVES uses the most modern techniques for the management of olive tree growing: drip irrigation, rational and efficient fertilization mode through the irrigation system, techniques of conduct and harvest which preserve the productivity of the trees, supervision and the sharing of the know-how with the partner farmers.
